Lloyds Engineering Works Limited has entered into a global licensing agreement with US-based The Material Works Limited to manufacture and market an advanced, environmentally sustainable steel pickling technology.
Under the agreement, Lloyds Engineering Works Limited has secured worldwide rights to produce and sell the Eco Pickled Surface Generation 4 (EPS Gen-4) system. This technology offers an acid-free alternative to conventional steel pickling processes, significantly reducing environmental impact by eliminating hazardous effluents and enabling the reuse of recyclable materials.
The licensing arrangement allows Lloyds Engineering to manufacture and deploy an unlimited number of EPS Gen-4 units across global markets, excluding a few specified regions. In return, the company will make scheduled license fee payments to The Material Works Limited, the developer and owner of the patented technology.
As part of the collaboration, The Material Works will provide ongoing technical assistance, design support, and marketing guidance to facilitate the commercial rollout of the system. The partnership is aimed at accelerating adoption of cleaner steel processing solutions while ensuring high operational efficiency for end users.
Lloyds Engineering stated that the agreement aligns with its long-term growth strategy and sustainability goals. By adding eco-friendly surface treatment solutions to its portfolio, the company aims to strengthen its position in the global steel and engineering markets while supporting the industry’s transition toward greener manufacturing practices.
