MOIL posted its highest-ever November output at 1.65 lakh tonnes of manganese ore. Stronger domestic ore supply matters directly to silico manganese and ferro manganese smelters, who otherwise lean on imports from South Africa, Gabon and Australia. Record months from MOIL help cap ore costs — the largest single input in manganese alloy economics — and reduce the foreign-exchange exposure embedded in alloy pricing. Smelters across the manganese belt will hope the production momentum holds through the fiscal year.
